TEXTILES (RE)MEMBER ?

Through the art of weaving, textiles (re)member ? brings together threads of personal and collective history, creating tangible keepsakes that honour place, migration, and shared knowledge.

WEAVING OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD

Through placing a wooden loom on the street, along with spray paint and fabric, the local community of Ayioi Omoloyites

SIGA SIGA // SLOWLY SLOWLY

Through the intertwined and everyday rituals of weaving and shelling, we initiate a dialogue rooted in reimagining ancestral practice, nourishing the knowledge lost across generations, disconnecting and connecting Cyprus and Australia.

FOR ANNA

Comprising both what I remember and what I’ve inherited, from clear recollections to those more blurred or imagined. The therapeutic nature of weaving, coupled with photographs and remnants, seeks to encourage both artist and viewer to hold their own memories close, and pause an extra moment to reflect on them.

MAVROMATI

Mavromati, my small textile brand, is the product of generational textile handicrafts, taking on the therapeutic practice of knitting while also playing with gender and queerness through these hand knitted pieces.
