Weaving Our Neighbourhood

Participatory art as part of Y-PLAN Youth Urban Activation Camp (Cyprus), 2026.

Weaving Our Neighbourhood was a participatory textile installation developed for the Lao Lao / Car Free Day event in Agioi Omologites as part of the Y-PLAN Youth Urban Activation Camp 2026. Using reclaimed local materials, a handmade wooden loom was constructed, inviting residents to contribute through weaving, while spray paint was used collectively to create signage for the local park. The project engaged children, families, and passers-by in a creative exploration of place, fostering connections between people, their neighbourhood, and the surrounding environment.
